Utah Trip

Wednesday, William and I took a quick trip up to Utah for a wedding. William was such a good sport while traveling and while I dragged him everywhere to see family and friends (since we were only there for a few days, we only got a sampling of a few friends and family). Here's a great picture Uncle John took while we were at the Salt Lake City Temple.


We stopped by good old BYU. It was really funny to see what a different culture it is there. For example the overly-friendly cashiers, people holding the doors open for you because you have a kid even though you are still 50 feet away from the door, and my favorite, William tripped (which most of the time I just let him pick himself up because he is very capable) so I was waiting for him to pick himself up but some guy came swooping in and picked William up, brushed him off, and then hurried off to class. Here we are at Robin's reception. Robin and I were roommates our first two years at BYU, and really good friends too. She married a wonderful guy, who is just perfect for her. My favorite was their first dance. They started out dancing to "The Way You Look Tonight" then broke out to "Paralyzed" and did this really funny choriographed dance (Robin's a modern dance teacher.) It was the best first dance I've ever seen!


We also saw many friends and family. Here's another old roommate and one of my best friends during college, Jolene Jenkins. She has a dog, a mastiff, named Gimley. William and him were buddies by the end of the night.

It was so good to be back in Utah. I miss the pretty scenery. Tucson is so ugly. No, not really, it can be a different kind of "pretty". I don't think we'll ever move to Utah, but we'll definitely come back for a visit soon!
